i want to buy an xbox 360, is it worth buying one, how good are they?

I have yet to find a person who enjoys their PS3. The Wii is also alright if you don't mind playing with the same graphics as the gamecube. The 360 has the biggest online community and probably some of the most anticipated games of the year (gears of war, halo 3, rainbowsix vegas, lost planet etc...)

To answer you question: YES!
Besides a few minor flaws,the Xbox 360 is a MUST to buy when it comes to video consoles. If you want to get an 360,you can not sit it up straight,because if it falls for some odd reason,you game inside and your internal 360 inside will be damaged!!It is also reccomended getting a "Inter Cooler system",due to the fact that the console gets hot when playing it over quite a lot of time.But,the Xbox 360 has hundreds of reccomended games that are fun and also challenging.If you have an HD-tv,you can play your 360 in 720p,1080i,or even 1080p,which is unbelievable! The graphics on the 360 has improved over the last Xbox generation.Now,if you really want to raise the favorites level up (although that is not possible :) ),then I would reccomend "Xbox Live".All you got to do is plug in your 360 to your modem/router with as single ethernet cable,or buy a Wireless Adapter for your router to find the signal from your xbox. The nintendo wii is not the greatest console to buy if you are over 12 and it is a hassle trying to fix your controller(s) and the system itself.And the Playstation is a good machine,but it is overpriced,and the games aren't that great (due to the fact Sony does not make games,unlike Microsoft).The 360 cost a minimum of 300 dollars now and it really really worth it.*Oh yeah,also if you get xbox live,you can download thousands of TV shows and movies (old and newly released) and you can also purchase game demos and game trailers for you favorite up-comming games!!

It is the best system so far...
It doesn't quite measure up to the PS3's graphics, but it more than makes up for that with its games. Sony's lineup doesnt look good until probably the second half of this year.
Xbox 360 on the other hand has great games like Assasins Creed and Halo 3 coming out.
The Wii is fun...but after a while your hand starts to hurt and the games get repetetive.

the answer is yes. i think it's pretty good because the Ps3 is too expensive, besides the Xbox 360 has better games, for example Gears of wars, Burn out revenge, Rainbow six vegas, and Halo 3 coming soon.

The best system out now by far. Very easy to use. Huge library. Backward compatibility is getting there slowly, but surely. The list of games coming out for 2007 is huge.....Halo 3, Bio Shock, Mass Effect, and tons others.

definately get one... UNLESS AND ONLY UNLESS ur rich or want a blu-ray disk player

graphics- almost as good as ps3 and right now just as good

resolution- games are hd, capable of displaying 1080p but no games in 1080p

gameplay/ controls- just like xbox, NO motion sensor

games- BEST SELECTION of games (in my opinion)- rainbow six vegas, halo2, halo 3 soon, gears of war, F.E.A.R., ghost recon advanced war fighter 1 and 2, call of duty

backward compatability- play most xbox games

online- great online, good lag free, RANKED, but no wifi

downloadable games- download cool games like ultimate mortal kombat 3 and doom

bottom line - definately worth buying now that there are no glitches/ defects. solid console. great games and graphics.

The xbox360 is okay but i suggest a ps3 or a wii if you don't want to spend too much money. I suggest those because they're new and that means a buch of games will come out for them
