An employee aged 18 years or over is entitled to a 20 minute undisturbed break for every 6 hour shift they work.

They are also entitled to 11 hours rest between each work day and are further entitled to one full day off each week.

An employee aged less than 18 years old (from the minimum age of leaving school) is entitled to a 30 minute undisturbed break for every 4.5 hour shift they work. They are also entitled to 12 hours rest between each work day and are further entitled to two full days off each week.

Employees are not liable to have toilet breaks without the consent of their employer. However, for the sake of your employees' health, it is better for them to use the toilet freely.

ill have to double check as the rules on this are always changing but you are entitled to a fifteen minute break (at least) if you work over 4 hours also entitled to a longer lunch break as well. Double check the governments employment law website it has full details of this.

Ok. Upto 4hrs work, no break, after 4hrs,10mins. upto 6hrs when its half hour then minumum of 8mins to 8hrs but ifyou work over 10hrs its another half hour at least. So if You start at 8am, your first break is 12noon for 10min, next break is 2pm for half hour, next break is 6pm for half hour and if you've got good boss, maybe tea or coffee while your working the last hour. Go see the union rep or ring the union up. You don't have to be a member.

you are entitled to a ten minute paid break for every four hours.
so in a twelve hour shift you should be entitled to 2 fifteen minute paid breaks and a 30 - 60 minutes unpaid lunch break.
if you are like me andget less thanthis, your employers are breaking the law.
i get a half hour unpaid break for a 14hour shift!!!
