I think you need to clean the cause of the Oder, then you wont have the smell anymore. Like someone mentioned above Air fresheners only mask the Oder.
I am not sure where the Oder is since you didn't say. If it is in the carpet a product called Mean Green is great at removing the cause of Oder. It is not a air freshener it is meant for cleaning.
If the Oder is coming from furniture you can also use Mean Green there as well.
Air Fresheners only mask odors, when the good smell goes away you are left with the bad Oder again. Find the source and clean it.

I left a link for Mean Green

Renuizit has one thats called "odor absorber" it's quite strong but it really helps. I have a damp basement and I pop one of these babies in it every month or so and it takes out the dog smell and the little boy potty training but missed again smell. It will be quite strong the first few days- quite strong- but it does work. I also use it if we are going away and the house will be welled up for a while helps to keep the un-pleasants away. If your a smoker (i am) it helps with that too, My favorite place to have it in the garage- helps to cover the oily smell. Another tip- if you choose/cannot find this open you windows on a really cold day many people will scream oh the gas/oil bill- yes it may cost you a few bucks but-nothing takes the funk away like cold crisp air- it also kills all dust mites (every house has them) and it makes the whole house smell aired out-I tend to do it for like a half hour every day- as the kids get on the bus i turn the furnace as low as it goes- open all the windows while i take a shower and close them up right after.

You need more than merely an air freshener. You have to find the sources of the pet odor and clean them. If it is ped bedding, wash it with a gentle detergent. If it is the carpet or furniture, I would recommend steam cleaning with a product called OdoBan. It is a cleaner/disinfectant/deodorizer, etc...You can even clean your walls, vinyl, lineoleum or tiled floors with OdoBan. It does a great job on pet odors.

Air fresheners do not get rid of the odor, they only mask it. You need to go to your local janitorial supply store and purchase an odor removal spray. This is the only thing that will work completely

Arm and Hammer has a carpet and room deodorizer; I think it's called "Pet Fresh." Actually they have two: one comes in a shaker box, you sprinkle it on the carpets, and vacuum later. They also have one in a can, which does not need to be vacuumed.

The good thing about those products, is that their formulas also help to release pet hairs from the carpets.

You can also keep those $1 (approx) Renuzit Super Odor Killers wherever the odor is--The ones that stand up, and you lift the lid for as much deodorizing as you need.

We recently got a puppy and it's cold out so i have been letting him stay in my kitchen, i hate the smell of a dog, i am a clean freak, so out to the store i went. I spray Clorox Fresh Care Heavy duty Fabric refresher on the furniture and carpet, each day before we leave for school and work. Then every afternoon, while preparing dinner I burn scented candles in three rooms of the house for 1 hour. You can't tell we own a pet, or for that matter, share a home with one.

Just get a pretty colored bowl and fill it with vinegar and that will remove the odor. You must get to the bottom of where the smell is coming from, is it the dog that smells,,,,bring to a vet and have her/him groomed. is it accidents your pet has, Then that has to be cleaned to eliminate the odor,

I get one at Wal-Mart called Kids & Pets. You put it on the offending carpet or wherever and the enzymes in it will neutralize the bacteria from urine, vomit or feces so the smell will go away and the animal won't pee there again. Worked great in my car when my son puked too! Spraying something in the air won't help. You need to kill the bacteria. Also, if you don't know where the pee stain is, use a blacklight. It will show the spot in the dark.

Hi, I recommend a product that I buy at Sam's Club. It comes in a gallon jug or you can buy it at Walmart in a spray bottle. In the spray it is already diluted to household strength, and I seldom use it that way. It is called ODO-BAN it is natural and smells great but most of all it WORKS! I use it in different strengths depending on how I am using it. Is is VERY popular with kennels and horse farms, I use it in my barn around all my animals because it is non-toxic. It will even(if used full strength) knock out skunk smell in concrete or poured directly on the dead animal in your pasture. It is used in hospitals all over the country and kills just about every kind of bacteria known to man. Get it. Use it. Don't waste your time and money on anything else. It Works!

Fabreeze is good and it doesn't smell like those other air fresheners that just sort of mask the issues. You know the ones, the kind that makes it smell like fresh pine with a hint of pooch.
