Inside the white ink container is a paint pigment and a solvent. The pigment (the powder or dry part) of the white ink is very thick. It has to be thick so that the ink will be opaque. Opaque means you cannot see through it. The solvent is the liquid that enables the ink to be spread onto paper etc.. They put a metal ball inside the container to help mix the pigment and solvent together evenly when you shake it. If the pigment and solvent are not mixed evenly, the ink will be runny or transparent.Transparent means you can see through it.
