Most people can only see things through their perspective, and from a married person's point of view, they don't see how anyone could be happy being single.
This is just not true. And although people may not understand it themselves, they should just let others be as long as they are happy with it. I don't think there is anything wrong with being single.
If you do not wish to have a relationship, there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Focus on the positive and try to be around supportive friends who care about you. If they really care, they will realize that you are happy with things as they are and not force the issue.
(in other words, they should be supportive. Friendships are about being supportive, not about "fixing" people or making them conform to your standards)

That is frustrating. Changes in society happen slowly and the most striking changes tend to include stereotypical perceptions. I'm not sure if you're male or female but I think that for either gender it's viewed as "abnormal" to not be married or in a relationship by 33. It's a changing world out there, friend. Just wait it out : )

In people mind, not having a relationship of any kind is perceived as odd. If you had one and just prefer to remain single, (opt for a casual relationships), then that's a different story, but if you never had a partner of any kind, it's pretty rare, and the reactions you will get might be negative. Keep your private life to yourself, it's no-body's business, sometimes it's easier to tell people what they want to hear, and confide only in your closest friends/family.

Don't let it drive you mad, or you will be abnormal.
Count the people who do not criticize you, rather than those that do, or only count the people who talk to you respectfully, and it will give you a truer picture of those that do.
People who feel the need to criticize others about their live style, are only trying to make themselves feel better.
You have found a live-style which suits you, don't judge yourself by the standards of what you will see as a tiny minority of people.

Most people have so much trouble defining what is normal and right that somewhere in the confusion anything that doesn't stand up to their own very high standards of normalness is immediately rejected and seen as abnormal and wrong. Maybe.

It is no one's business if you are not in a relationship. You don't have to respond to anyone's nosey inquiries. There's nothing wrong with this. There are other people with this type of lifestyle. You're not alone in that respect.
