The best thing I've found to release stuck rings, lifters and the like, is an additive called Marvel Mystery Oil. Ive seen this free up 20 yr old rusted shut pistons. It comes in a red bottle any autoparts store should have it. Just add some to your oil.

I would run some SeaFoam in the oil, Check out s-seriesforum.com or .org I can't remember for some more info, Anyway's back the seafoam, you can get it at Advance Auto, and many other places, Do the way to run it in the oil, not the gas way or the intake way, just the oil way. Anyway's good luck, it's a 4.3 so worse case, have new lifters put in, It's about a $800 job. Sucks, I just did mine in my '99 350. Also what makes you think it's you're lifter for sure.

the only sure way to remedy the problem is to replace the suspect lifter.........first check your rocker arm,s for possible damage........you may try an additive such as rislone, marvel mystery oil, etc. but this is usually a temporary fix.
