We are going on vacation in 4 days, and up until now, I haven't had time to go to a tanning bed. Would I get tan in 4 days if I went for 20 minutes each day? I know it's bad for you, but that aside....would it work?

It really depends on how fast your skin takes in the light - you might be better off getting an airbrush tan - 4 days is not very much time to get a "good" tan.

depending on your skin color 4 days you 'could' get a base but if you haven't tanned at all in a while 20 mins the first day you might burn... you should be careful.. if you're young you have plenty of time to 'damage' your skin - if you're young and have no damage - why start! if you use a self-tanner or spray tan which is what you 'should' do - get it done 2 days before you leave this way you have a good 'glow'.. also, don't confuse that sunless tanning as a 'base' and not wear sunscreen - the rays will go right through and you'll burn!! all in all no tanning is safe use 30SPF over higher and who cares if you're a little 'milky' on the beach! when you're in your 40's your skin will still look young and glowing and you won't regret fake-n-bakin' it in the earlier years....

I would recommend going to a salon that has the "spray on" tan - once today and then once again the day b4 you go. When you're there, where sunblock - at least 15, 30 if you tend to burn. You'll look great and you will still get color while you're down there. As someone who used to be a sun bum and now has had 4 moles removed because of sun damage...I strongly urge you to be careful with your skin.

Skip the tanning bed and go for a Mystic Tan. It only takes one visit and you stay tanned for about 10 days as long as you continue to moisturize.

Mystic tans leave your skin looking scaley in a few weeks..I advise you to tan your 4 days, and at night before going to bed, apply Vaseline Natural Glow body lotion(it has a hint of self tan so it doesnt leave you streaky) but wash your hands right after...and make sure you get it even

This helped me go from ghost to dark in 4 days...seriously

you will be as red as a lobster. you should just go 8-10 minutes each day and youll be tan. 20 minutes is way too long and if you go for 20 minutes for 4 days you'll look terrible. i go tanning SOMETIMES too. and i know looking tan may be important to you right now but when your older and your skin looks and feels like leather youll be sorry.

do you want a tan so you look good or a tan so you wont burn

you could get both by going those four days and then going to a salon where they do spray tans

Not a good Idea, tanning bed for 4 days
There is a product called; FAKE BAKE you apply and you're dark immediately.
Make sure to wear gloves.

i recommend self tanning lotion. apply it a couple times a day before you leave for vacation. use a good brand so you wont get streaks. unless you are already very dark complected, a tanning bed wont help much with only 4 days.

No...probably not. I always hear of my younger sister and her friends going to a tanning salon and getting a spray on tan before their prom. You could try that and it is less dangerous than exposing yourself to tanning beds.
