Hello there! I'm on Yahoo Canada and yes,I think about it all the time.Unfortunately, discrimination is Universal.
We all have a certain amount of it,even if we think we don't.We discriminate every day against people that are overweight,unattractive,poor,homeless...etc.
I think the trick is to recognize it when you do it and try to change.
I try to see all people as equals but sometimes I fail.I guess that's part of being Human,we have faults.
Anyway,Hello from The Great White North!

Discrimination is a disease of society that promotes social inequality. It has caused segregation, wars, genocides, and other injustices. It is product of close-mindeness and ignorance. People with prejudiced views are neither willing to learn about nor tolerate others. Sadly, it is present in every corner of the world. The United States is in theory, a "melting pot" of many people, but divide between racial/ethnic and religious group is still a reality.

The discrimination in Yahoo Answers begins with the thumbs up and down ... everybody is entitled to free expression ... if you ask something be prepared to receive positive and negative comments ...

Discrimination is discrimination.
As wrong and as bothersoem as it is, I almost find it humorous to see prejudice in the United States.
We are a nation of imigrants, and on top of it we have a long history of foreign trade and such (hopefully that has not been completely destroyed with our current administration).
Bottom it just as equally obsurd as it is counter productive to the advacnement of civilization.

it can be either good or bad. It's good to discriminate against criminals, thugs and Cub fans. But it's bad to discriminate against anyone else.
