I lifted six days a week for 9 months and went from a 35" chest to a 43, and my arms went from 12" to almost 17. Most trainers will tell you to stagger your exercises and I suppose that's a good idea. I didn't and my power muscles developed very quickly and without incident.
You, however, may not have the same type of muscle, so to be cautious. If you are going to lift 5 days a week, alternate between the upper and lower body exercises and I don't think you will have a problem.

I do not see a problem with you lifting 5 days a week as long as each muscle group is getting the proper amount of rest. If you want to lift 5 days a week just be sure to space out your muscle groups. For instance if you work your chest Monday, don't work it again untill Wednesday at the earliest. Also focus on nutrition. I have found my weight lifting results have greatly improved ever since I started paying more attention to my nutrition.
Hope that helps,
Eric

It's not a bad idea. Any exercise 5 days a week is great - just make sure that's the max number of days in a week. Your body needs its rest just as much as it needs a workout. Also, be sure to switch up the areas your working on. For example, interchange the days you work on your arms/chest vs. lower back/legs for the maximum benefit.
If you're not used to lifting currently 5 days/wk, be prepared for some soreness. It usually takes up to about 2 wks of a regular lifting schedule for your muscles to become in tune and ready for lifting 24 hours later. And most importantly - Stretch!

if you're doing a different body part each day, then you're fine. but if you're doing a full body workout 5days in a row, you should stop. there should be at least 48 hours between workouts. you're muscles need time to heal. try doing each body part once or twice a week. that's called a training split.

No - you need to work other parts of your body so you don't strain or pull those muscles - it can cause you some problems later in life.
