People say that they are old... I dont think that it's the Spurs as much as the rest of the West teams. The mavs and Suns are WAY ahead of the spurs, and teams such as Houston and Lakers are catching up (Utah has already caught up with them) Like i said, its not the actual Spurs, they really are an amazing team with great balance. I dont think they need to win many of there regular season games becuase they are gonna make the playoffs for sure. The thing i love about the Spurs is that they make sure they dont tire out their stars to much. The player with the most minute average is Duncan around 34 mins. That isnt a lot for an all-star starter. Parker is barely averging over 30 mins and Ginobli has never averged more than 30 mins a game because in the playoffs is when it really counts. Spurs play the starters a lot during the playoffs, that's why most of the starters stats always jump a lot. Watch out, the spurs are coming and they are gonna come at you FAST.

So many ppl count them out becuz Phoenix and Dallas are having such terrific starts, the spurs are a veteran team with a proven coach that know how to win down the stretch. Just as we saw last year with the pistons when everyone gave them the attention as the no brainer pick to come out of the east, they fell short to miami. I'm not counting out the Spurs either!!!!

Let me start off by saying, the San Antonio Spurs are the second best team in basketball. I think the main reason is due to the fact that they would have to play a fresh mavericks team in the play-offs to advance. This is a problem because the Spurs are not quite as good as they were last year (when they got beat) due to aging superstars. The mavericks however got tremendously better due to the continuing improvment of dirk terry and their younger players such as devean harris and josh howard. they have also added key players such as deavan george and greg buckner. 2 years ago the mavs were lucky to steal one from the spurs. last year it could have gone either way. this year, the spurs will be lucky to steal one from the mavs. it's possible the suns could beat them in a 7 game series as well. the spurs could never get through the west in the playoffs giving up home court to the mavs and suns.

The Spurs are still one of the best teams in the league. But don't forget about the Jazz in the West who have played great this season. San Antonio has some of the best players and a great coach in Popovich. I wouldn't count them out.

because they are older 7 games back of the mavericks lost both encounters to the mavericks and mavericks finally shook the san antonio gorilla off their back last year. and face it they are slow. also i mean no disrespect to the suns i say the mavericks cause the way the playoffs are set up they will have to go through dallas ans i dont see that happening but the spurs are a class organization.

do no longer hear to the idiots above, if there's a set thats gonna income from the back2backs interior the playoffs (if there'll be) it's going to be the spurs, different that okc and mia of direction. have you ever seen there roster? they are stacked! And approximately Manu, he has been rounding into shape these days and hasn't performed lots of video games in this stupid season, i think of hell be advantageous interior the playoffs.

They're not as dominant as they used to be. They've lost some of their key backup players and they can't keep up with Dallas or Phoenix.
They live and die by the success of Tim Duncan, who hasn't been as good in recent years.

Because they don't have enough,or any, depth. If Tim Duncan got injured their season would be over.
