A "weak Bush" is not the whole story of what is making us weaker. It is the fact that both sides cannot find common ground to move the country in a positive direction. They are both mired in the "whatever gets us into power" line of thinking that is ruining our country. Bush's low popularity is not entirely his own doing. Constant attacks from the left side of the aisle on over policies that all should be united on(better economy, victory in Iraq, the war on terror) are hurting the presidency. In todays political climate the same attacks would be happening no matter who the Republican office holder is because it is about gaining power, not what is best for the country.

unfortunately not. he's still in power and any concessions he's making are in name only. He hasn't come up with any kind of new strategy and for all his rhetoric, if we do reduce emissions by 20% in 10 years, it will have little to do with him.

One thing it may do is help convince the Iraqi people that the Americans are not out to kill them, that we know the war is wrong and are just trying to find a peaceful way out. Unfortunately if the new Democrats in Congress can't get Bush to change his plan, it won't matter if they see America or Bush as the enemy. If Congress can't wrest some control of the army from Bush, then when an Iraqi sees an American troop, they will see a troop representing Bush, not representing a nation which had been fooled by a madman but took the power back.

Democrats stupidity never ceases to surprise me. First off, Zillion isn't even a word, its not existent. I think you meant billions. And if you think like a reverse DOW. Well when the DOW got "too" high we had something called the great depression which wasn't a good thing.

what does asking for money to defend this country have to do with being strong or weak? you liberals really dont quit do you? I will agree with you on one point...a weak popular president may infact make a strong us in this case. war is not popular or pretty, but that certainly doesnt make it unnecessary. I never considered defending this country against jihad and al qaeda with the constraint of a popularity contest. if that was the case, clinton would be a veritable behemoth as the uss cole, african embassiy bombings and first wtc attack had no response at all, but as you can see, didnt solve anything. bottom line, protection and national defense is our first priority in this case and certainly with the overt attempt at reinstalling tax and spend in this economy, the pelosi/reid regieme has turned this into a horrible mess. liberals better wake up soon or god help us all.

How would undermining our President mean a stronger US? That seems like a contradiction. You are letting your hatred of a man cloud your judgment. I am admittedly a conservative, but I don't hate anyone; if Nancy Palosi was voted in as President I would support her and pray that she makes the right decisions. Many liberals preach love, understanding, and acceptance, but I only seem to see hate and hypocrisy in their messages.

~You got that right! There aren't that many supporters left, lets cross our fingers and hope more and more people come to the realization that Bush is only in it for the money, power and oil.~
