Because there is so much sympathy for the Palestinians these days from people who do not realize how badly they have been treated by other Arab states and by their own politicians who have grown obscenely wealthy by diverting aid funds. When he died Yasser Arafat was one of the richest men in the world - main from diverted aid funds. If only a quarter of the funds donated by non-Arab governments had gone to the Palestinians as it should have done they would have a much better life, and a society that could challenge Israel without using young people as suicide bombers.
The oil rich Arab states could have done far far more to help their racial brothers and c0-coreligionists - they did not because they wanted to keep pressure on Israel, and the Palestinians make good cannon fodder for them.

Good start...ask questions.
Ask a Jew what they think ...I have.
Also read up on word history.
A lot more to it than this.....
Jews, since the diospera have banded together in order to survive being a minority wherever they went.
Their commitment to their community was perceived to be an unwillingness to totally assimilate into the host culture.
OK some sects are a little hard to take in this century (sorry)
One face to the world & another to themselves with a separate language tied to a different religion has given some the idea they are "secret society "to be wary of.
Jews do not proselytise or try to market their faith as so many do.
Again giving some the notion that it is a "closed shop".
Not necessarily so.
I think they welcome sincere debate & will open doors if it means better understanding.
Good way to start the ball rolling is to go to a good Jewish bakery on a cold night.
