First off, make sure that you aren't taking the stud in and out of your ear. The next thing I suggest is peroxide, peroxide, peroxide.

Keep using this instead of alcohol (which may burn) if your ear is infected. Put the peroxide on a cotton ball and squeeze the cotton ball so that the peroxide will run into the hole. Repeat until your ear is better.

Hope this helps!

Alcohol will dry your skin and make it worse do not use it! I did and ended up taking my earrings out because it hurt.
I repierced them several months later and bought the antiseptic stuff. Neosporin, Polysporin whatever you call it is a good idea as well. If it does get crusty do not pull it free. Clean it with water and loosen the guck, spin it, apply the antiseptic and then the polysporin.

If you touch it too much, or if you don't clean it it will get infected. If you try to take the earring out before the time they tell you, it may also get infected. You should have been given an antiseptic to clean it. You should do this everyday without taking the earring off so that it will avoid infections.

You might be allergic to the metal in the earring. There is a product called ear magic try to google it. It is usually sold in those kiosks in malls that pierce your ears. It is for sensitive ears. Use neosporin on your ear and take the earring out.

Put some hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball or q-tip and clean the piercing daily. Be sure to "turn" the earring every so often, so it won't get stuck in place.

Depends on your ears.. You may be more sensitive to certain metals than other people.. A lot of people, like myself can't just wear any earrings.. I have to wear the "sensitive" ones that are nickel free.

Is it already infected??? Try Neosporin. Rubbing alcohol (may burn). if this continues, take it out and let it close up. No infection is worth it.

didn't they give you an antiseptic? if not go to the drug store and ask the pharmacist ... alcohol or peroxide should do it - but i'm sure there's something that's not as 'harsh' ...
