i have have eight peircings on my ears and none have ever got infected. i recommend wrapping a piece of platic wrap around your ear w/ a rubber band to secure it when you takea shower so debri doesn't affect it. clean it with an alcohol solution daily and don't sleep on your ears for a while. also, keeping your hair in a ponytail helps becuase hair tends to carry lots of oil and dirt. good luck!

It gets infected is "germs" get into the wound (which is what the hole in your ear is).
If a sterile needle was used and you don't touch your ear, then it's unlikely to get infected. If you do touch your ear (I'll bet you've done it without thinking), things your hands have picked up can get in there.
Rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide should do the trick.

It won't get infected if you would not wear fancy earrings just waer genuine a silver one will do.

I've always been told to clean the area with rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip. Hope that helps!

keep cleaning it with alcohol like twice a day thats what they will put on it if it does get infected good luck .

wash your ears with salt water is the best thing that you can do
