I'm on clomid now. I had stomach pains the first month I took it. I'm going on five months being on the medication. Unfortunately, you can experience missed periods like i'm experiencing right now. I am three weeks late and still waiting for my period. Another side affect I had was hot flashes. I live in Chicago and we have had some cold days here lately. I had the fan on and froze my husband out of the room. One minute you're fine, the next minute it feels like July. Those are the only few side effects i had. I read up on clomid and found out you can get ovarian sists. I think your doctor knows that the side affects aren't dangerous for you if he suggested using this medicine. Try it and maybe you'll be pregnant in the next few months. Just make sure your husband knows when your most fertile days are so he won't be too tired to perform...

Hot flashes, mood swings, stomach pain, bloating, headache, hostile cervical mucus, and ovarian hyperstimulation are the main side effects but not all women have them. Some have none at all. Clomid is a good drug and has been on the market for many many years so you should feel reasonably comfortable taking it. Take it right before bed to reduce some of the side effects. Take Vitamin C throughout the entire cycle as well as prenatal vits. Also, avoid all non-steroidal anti-inflamitory drugs like Aleve, Motrin, Ibuprophen.

I'm assuming that you are taking Chlomid to increase ovulation? I myself am on Chlomid myself 150 mg, this is my 3rd month in taking it and I am not aware of any serious side affects & nor have I experienced any serious side effects. With all medication, there is some side effects, just depends on how your body reacts to it. However, my only side affect that has bugged me in taking Chlomid are the hot flashes. For no reason, I get hot & start sweating and here it is 17 degrees outside & snowing & I know it's the Chlomid because as soon as it's out of my system & am finished with my 5 day supply, I'll be freezing this time next week. Hope this helps & Good Luck!

I took Clomid and have a beautiful baby girl now. I remember feeling nauseous when taking the medication but it was well worth it. Good luck!

Twin pregnancies may occur in as many as 5% of the women who use Clomid. Triplet pregnancies are far more rare. Other reported adverse effects include ovarian enlargement 13.6%,Vasomotor Flushes 10.4%, abdominal or pelvic discomfort, distention or bloating 5.5%, nausea and vomiting 2.2%, breast discomfort 2.1%, visual symptoms (blurred vision, lights, floaters, waves, unspecified visual complaints, photophobia, diplopia, scotoma, etc.) 1.5%, headache 1.3% and abnormal uterine bleeding (intermenstrual spotting, menorrhagia)1.3%. Although there has been much talk about the relationship of clomiphene (and other fertility drugs) to ovarian cancer the vast majority of the evidence now seems to point at infertility itself, rather than the use of fertility drugs as being the primary explanation for the slightly increased incidence of reproductive cancers in the infertility population.
