Yes.

There are lots of reasons and if you have concerns then you really should talk to a doctor.

You grow because of the release of a growth hormone. The release of this hormone is controlled by the pituitary gland which is in the brain. Sometimes this gland is triggered, resulting in the release of growth hormone and growing occurs again. There are several reasons that can cause this including a tumour.

Growth of the limbs occurs at something called the growth plate. There are 2 of these, one near the end of each limb bone. Growth occurs in the bones at these points. These growth plates burn out (for want of a better phrase) and growth stops.

If growth restarts, then the bones won't grow in length once these growth plates have fused but areas of the body where there is cartilage, growth will occur. The most obvious examples are the nose and ear lobes.

I hope this hasn't confused you.

As to what can be done to stop it - that depends entirely on the cause and only a doctor can tell you if this is possible.

Once you reach puberty the long bones of the legs fuse so that you cannot grow any taller. After this time growth hormone production stops. If you were to continue producing growth hormone or have it injected it would not make you grow it would cause a disease called acromegly which would cause your bones to grow but not in a way that would increase your height. There are operations that can be performed but they are extremely painful lwith long recovery periods and I am sure your doctor would not agree to them.Be happy with yourself and think about all the positive things you have.

you may want to, yet i does no longer anticipate it. you're already a positive height. in case you do not anticipate to advance, then it would want to in common words be a positive marvel for you, and in case you do not, you isn't disillusioned. i'm the tallest in my kin through a lengthy shot, so it would want to happen. and also you may proceed to advance - I grew my very last inch at 20 and my dad did at 21. so that you under no circumstances comprehend. How tall are human beings on your kin? you're already a lot taller than some thing, it variety of feels.

It's unlikely you can grow taller but unless you've been doing yoga all your life your posture can be improved. It's worth seeing an osteopath or chiropractor, or just take up yoga or martial arts. (forgive me if you're a 3rd Dan already!)

Possible but very unlikely, nothing can be done to alter height, its all down to genetics and unchangable.

There wouldn't be much growing left.
There's nothing you can do to help yourself grow. Just learn to accept yourself as you are.
