You can have a false positive pregnancy test. If your friend took a pregnancy test that showed positive, the cramping, bleeding, and clotting may be a miscarriage. She should be checked out by a doctor.

Home tests ARE NOT 100% reliable. If they think that they maybe pregnant, they need to go to the doctor to be sure. There is a name for that....when you take a home test and it shows up positive and you are really not pregnant....I forget what its called. Even if the test was right, bleeding and clotting is not normal....seek a doctor!!

I had 3 false pregnancy tests when I was pregnant with my youngest son. But I have never heard of false positives. Call the doctor or have her go in. She needs to be checked out.

1. It could be a very early miscarriage that should be checked by a dr (not an ER situation, just call her gyn)
2. I used a couple Dollar Store tests that gave me 2 false positives - followup bloodwork showed I was not pg
3. Good luck to her, either way she wants it to turn out

There are no false positives, but a positive pregnancy test is no guarantee that the pregnancy will continue.
