The official said the diplomat, the second secretary at the Iranian embassy in Baghdad, was snatched in the central Karrada district on Sunday by 30 gunmen wearing the uniforms of a special Iraqi army unit that often works with U.S. military forces in Iraq.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini blamed U.S. forces for the kidnapping of Jalal Sharafi, saying it was carried out by a group attached to Iraq's Defense Ministry "which works under the supervision of American forces."

My point was that was then this is now . The fact that they kidnapped people a;most 30 yrs ago is irelevant and to say that there has been a war for that peiod of time is idiotic and imature and in no way exscuses the provocation of war with the "justification " of they did somthing 30 years ago Good god get over it or should we be digging people up from the Roman Empire bevcause they did dab stuff too ?

Yes and you beat me to my answer... I was going to bring up that kidnapping today of an Iranian official. The kidnappers were in Iraqi uniforms but driving USA vehicles.
It is my belief that the USA is going to antagonize Iran into a conflict, claim 'we didn't do it' then argue we have to choice but to fight back... to attack Iranians openly.
It is all a process of making Iranians a known enemy rather than a the 'theoretical' one they are now.

Yes but Iranians aren't as dumb as he thinks they are. They also aren't going to roll over like Saddam's army did. The regular armed forces has an estimated 420,000 troops in three branches: Ground Forces, 350,000 troops; Navy, 18,000 sailors; and Air Force, 52,000 airmen. If you include the Revolutionary Guard they have upward of 540,000- 4 time the US forces in Iraq now.
Unlike Bush who seems hell bent on starting yet another war, Iran though their Grand Ayatollah, will muster the ire of all other nations against the US in the UN to resolve that issue. They will probably highlight the rhetoric used by Bush and his minions to say that they are instigators and make this country look even more foolish.
Besides, Bush is not supporting our troops as it is right now. He is sending them to Iraq with 40% of the equipment they need. He has also said that when this whole Iraq thing is over, in the long run all the killing etc will just be a comma in history. (said 9/20/06-CNN interview)

Your question somewhat begs various. you may desire to seperate the two wars as they actual are diverse. Afghanistan replaced into on the backside of a real risk to the US. Iraq besides the undeniable fact that replaced into purely an ideological/political journey. one might desire to observe that the US reaction to 9/11 replaced into disproportionate and over the right and fully political in nature as is the "warfare or Terror" (warfare?). it would desire to be argued that Bin Ladden needed united states to get its self in a quagmire for his motives. The administration be attentive to that if it stopped all that is wars the next day there could be ten of 1000's of Jobs interior the protection tension commercial complicated misplaced. this implies votes. expenses for nutrition and gasoline are growing to be customarily independently of the fee of the the "wars". gasoline expenses are a mix of call for from China and company greed. nutrition expenses are a mix circumstances (climate etc) and company greed (see existence centers Conglomerates eg Monsanto, ADM etc) in short company CAPITALISM OR STEROIDS. you have a spectacular to be unhappy with the direction of the government and to choose for to call for a metamorphosis. Congratulation for asking questions bu becareful to no longer throw the newborn out with the bathwater....nonetheless all those foul smells one end and foul noise on the different.

He just needs one incident major enough to arouse a public outcry and anti-Iranian hostility to a fever pitch, allowing him to invade Iran with impunity.
It should be interesting to see what unfolds in the next few months.

The world needs Iran to STOP building nukes and fomenting war in Iraq.
Why do you believe Bush caused this incident, instead of the Iranians?

I am sure Bush won't let news reports like this out again and so the plan won't have this ultra transparent look to it anymore.
That said they will kick Iran until it spits back and then invade Lose badly and have to nuke the place - That seems to be the plan of Hitler oops I mean President Bush

IRAN is BEGGING for a war. Their president believes that he is destined to bring on the apocalypse for crying out loud!! Why would Bush need to do anything to start a war? War is upon us whether we like it or not.
I can't believe people who think Bush is a War monger!! Ahmadenijad is trying to build nuclear weapons, sending Iranian soldiers in to help the insurgency against our troops, threatening to drive the Jews into the sea, saying that he wants to bring on the apocalypse and crying "Death to Israel, death to America!!".
Meanwhile a bunch of ignorant Americans are busy calling BUSH a war monger and saying that he's trying to trick Iran into starting a war. WAKE UP PEOPLE.

Iran started a war with us in 1979.
P.S. I think it's hilarious that the Iranians are "outraged" by the kidnapping of diplomats

Iran has been at war with the USA since 1979. The USA just hasn't participated yet.
Iran has been goading the US into a full fledged shooting war for years.
