Good for you for your decision to quit. You CAN do this!!! Each time you drag on your cig, you decrease the oxygen that goes to your baby.
It's not going to harm your baby with withdrawl. For every cig you don't smoke, give yourself a high five because you're one less and your baby will be healthier for it.
Make sure you don't cave and just go back to it. It can cause alot of problems through out your pregnancy. One thing it causes is placenta coming off the uterus and death of the fetus.
Honestly, you'll hear women say they smoked the whole time and their babys were fine, but the risks go up by so much with each cig, why take a chance.
Good for you!!!!!!

Withdrawals will not hurt your baby. I quit cold turkey and never smoked another cigarette again as soon as I found out I was pregnant and my baby is just fine. Withdrawals, having a cold or flu, morning sickness, etc... will not harm your baby. Just quit smoking any at all for the baby.

what smoking weed does for you is all in your head! of course it relaxes you but the effect of week only last about 15 minutes and the munchies and so on and so forth the reason why it gives you the munchies is because it lowers your blood sugar it would be very harmful to your baby its at the most important stage in its life the first trimester this is when all the major organ develop so by smoking you are cutting oxygen off to your baby causing it to now grow which is why smoking causes low birth rate and birth defects trust me as soon as i found out i was pregnant i smoked a pack a day! the day i found out i slowly cut down to 5 one day 4 day it took me a couple days but i didn't want to hurt my baby and still my baby was growth resticted barely 6 lbs at birth and i was overdue and i had a lot of problems with her so im glad that i stopped smoking because it could have been a lot worse! Welcome to mommyhood and giving up all fun for your beautiful child! Trust me its all worth it!

Once you cut down to none a day, the physical dependency is out of your system in 2 days. After that, it is all psychological. Do right by your baby and stop smoking all together now.
I speak from experience.

The smoke is worse - just try to substitute carrot sticks, celery sticks and lemon drops every time you get a craving the oral satisfaction will curb the craving quick! I went through the same thing with my first and she was born small and preemie but otherwise OK - just quit it is better for both of you! Good Luck!

No. You just STOP. You are not cutting the chemicals out of your body since you are still smoking. C'mon, you don't want to hurt your baby further. Of course it's hard, but this is a BABY growing inside you!!!

A co-worker of mine was a smoker and when she was pregnant her doctor told her not to quit but to cut down as much down as possible because it would be hard on the baby.

It sounds like you could really benefit from a stop-smoking support group. There are many online. There may be an in-person one in your community as well. Good luck.
