I heard a statistic the other day that on average, Americans in 2006, spent less than 10 minutes each day out of doors. Now, you could interpret this lots of ways, and I am not sure how accurate it is.........

My personal belief is this means we are becoming self-jailed prisoners inside our own houses, offices, and cars. We are self made slaves to our TVs, computers, cell phones, and steering wheels.

It's no wonder the planet is warming up, Americans are becoming the fattest people on the planet, the wildlands of the earth are being plowed under, and nobody gets to know their neighbors these days. Most Americans wouldn't notice or think about what was going on in the world around them, unless someone actually told them.

Of course I'm not the paradigm of morality myself, spending hours each day screen sucking. But the fact that people are asking how to build an actual fire doesn't surprise me, since it is a skill most Americans would never use.

Yes, we are satieted by cable TV and fast food and wouldn't know how to survive if our life depended on it...I agree with you on that.

However, the war we are fighting has destablized the middle east more than you obviously even realize. Your buddy BUSH took out one of the ONLY secular leaders in the middle east(Sadaam)...and we are battling religous extremists right? Duh.
