I have written a short article-one page-a bit funny-on being sick, marriage and compromise... Where can I send this? It's family-friendly...

Anything you write, is worth sending to someone. What is the point of writing if no one ever reads it? To be published in a magazine or a professional work, it would need to be tailored to what they decide, but I think you should just let the public read it, THAT IS NOT A WASTE OF TIME! Maybe you could set up your own blog (YAHOO! or MSN) or space on "myspace." Then you could post all of your writings in one area. There are a lot of writers groups online, to post your work and discuss technique. I would just GOOGLE it and then pick one that suits you the best.

Really, no where. You should always tailor the piece to fit the publication you have in mind, and just writing a piece like this and then trying to find a place to sent it, is a waste of time. Also, it has to be tightly written, VERY professional, perfect grammar and spelling, and in proper format. Magazines have tons of this kind of stuff in slush piles waiting to be returned to those who wrote them.
