I really liked making a piggy bank in pottery. It never got fired though. 3D stuff often gets missed out in secondary school art classes.

My most memorable high school memory in general was in my senior art class (which was a fluke i took it anyway, but was amazing in the end...)
We went after this project where we had to go in front of the school board and petition for a chance to take a small wall at the school and put up murals we painted. We were granted permission, stretched 4 large canvas mural boards, and our small class of 17 people was divided up into groups to design and paint our own mural boards. At first some thought it was a joke, but once we got into it, EVERYONE got into it. I made some great friends from that class alone, and 12 years later, that panel that I helped paint is still hanging in my high school with my name on it. It was cool!

My most memorable art lesson was when we sat in a circle (like a choo choo train) and drew the back of the head of the person in front. Almost 3/4 of the class were sent out of the room that day. Even me if i remember corrrectly! Note it was memorable, art was never enjoyable.

the teacher cleared all the tables away and we sat in a big ring on the floor. We were all given some paper and a piece of charcoal, then my teacher sat in the centre of the circle and we had 20 seconds to draw her. She then posed in different positions i.e. scrunched in a ball, sitting on a chair, standing on one leg etc but every time we were only given a really short amount of time to draw her.
I think the idea was to kind of throw off all the things we thought we knew about drawing and just kind of jump in and with such a short time to draw...that's what you had to do.
I still remember that day now...it was SO much fun...and i reckon that lesson must have taken place about 13 years ago!!
HOpe that helps and i havent rambled on for too long!

I looked forward to English, I loved Latin, but best of all was History. The wonderful Neil (?) Hart brought it alive for me. Things like that stay with you.
But even he could not stop me becoming a scientist. That had been my ambition ever since coming across Dr Beetle in the Teddy Tail annuals!
