me and my b/f are planning on getting married in about a year...he asked me to move to new jersey with him so he can work with his dad...i dont know if i can leave my family...i would be all alone out there (i live in cali) and i dont think it is fair to ask me to give up everything..i love him but it's scary...would you?

Where are you planning to live AFTER you get married? If it's possible go with him for a visit (a few weeks) to get a feel for the place. If you absolutely hate it and don't think you could adjust to living there he sure needs to know it. Of course it's scary, it's two major changes in your life. Do you know his dad? You might not be as alone as you think you'll be. If I was in your position I would take time away from work and go check the place out for a few weeks and then decide. Good luck...

You must talk with him. Tell him your not ready to move away from family, maybe you could live in Cali during Fall, Winter, and Spring and live where he wants to live as a summer home. It sounds like you two need to figure out a few things.

I did it for someone I was in love with.
I moved to Florida with someone I fell in love with.
We moved back within a year cause it sucked there but fortunately for us, we stayed together and were in fact married that next year.
If you're really in love then it will work out, but sometimes it doesnt always work out, have an escape plan just in case and a way to get back home.

I have the same situation as yours...I love him..and I would have to move with him because of his work. I never hesitated when I took the decision of moving...coz this is the person I'd love to be with and start a family with. yeah it scares me alot just thinking I would have to leave my family, my friends, my work and go to a place where I know no one...it makes my heart ache... but it's the way it has to be when I chose to commit to that person...it's the circle of life.no one stays with his or her family or friends forever...life goes on... you'll make your own family, have new friends...go ahead and go with him...I wish u the best of luck .

Girl, you can still stay in touch with your family via phonecalls, visits & the net, but that's your future husband & he has a plan! You better go with your man!!

i would in a second!! love can make you do crazy things... trust me i know. i moved from texas to north carolina for my love. i still do not know anyone really. but that is ok i am with the man of my dreams and so in love. it is great and i would not change a thing.

I would. My boyfriend moved to my state to be with me even though he doesn't know anyone else and left his whole family.
So yeah, I would do it for him too.
