Drink raspberry leaf tea, have sex, go for long walk, bounce up and down on an excercise ball are all suggestions but baby comes when its ready. I was 8 days late.

I was 10 days late with my baby too. You can try walking or nipple stimulation... even sex will help stimulate your uterus to contract. Even doing those kinds of things it doesn't mean you'll actually go into labor natrurally. You shouldn't be afraid of being induced. It's a very controlled experience and the Dr's are ready for anything that could happen. I was induced and everything was just fine. The main thing is that the baby is born and healthy, right?

I have 4 children and all were born past their due dates by 9 days, 11 days, 5 days, and 7 days. I was given many suggestions of things to try. Walking, having sex, nipple stimulation, eating spicy food, driving down bumpy roads, eating pineapple, scrubbing floors on my hands and knees were all things I tried, but nothing worked for me. All the babies came when they were ready. Labor and delivery hurts regardless if you are induced or not, but it is not uncommon to have stronger and more painful contractions with an induction.

Go to GNC and get some raspberry tea....I swear by the stuff. Drink as much as you can. It's made from the leaves and supposedly there is something in it that induces labor.

Walk, do lots of walking. Have sex, masturbate, nipple stimulation.
I've heard rumors that rosemary in food helps too.
So go nuts w/rosemary in your food, maybe even find a rosemary massage oil so that you and your guy can have one last fling, drink a cup of raspberry tea, and head to the bedroom.
Induction isn't painful as long as the pitocin isn't administered in huge amounts. If it hurts, there is always the epidural (blissful to be honest). I was petrified of getting an epi, but it was very nice.

I had the same problem with my son. The midwives had me use evening primrose oil capsules. You insert them as close to the cervex as possible. One every night. Also they said to have lots of sex. lol. Something about a mans sperm triggering labor.

The due date is just an estimate. 4 days is not late. It should be real soon though.
