Everyone treats it like it is some evil act that only the most holy and devout people can responsibly engage in sex.
Sex is a biological act like any other. Do you think that defecation is evil?
It's true that sex can result in babies and STD's. However, there are precautions that can be taken to ensure that these things don't happen. And it's also true that these precautions aren't always 100% effective. However, that doesn't warrant abstinence. Driving a car is more dangerous than having sex. Should everyone stop driving their cars?
Somehow, it's okay for the United States to go to war and cause the deaths of thousands of people but the minute someone has sex, we're all going to hell.

you make a very good point and i agree. our bodies are made for procreation. that's why men have penises and women have vaginas. the "wrong" part is simply from social stigma and bigots. certain people say you shouldn't have sex outside of marriage, but those same people say that certain people should not be married (i.e., homosexuals) truly people need to mind their own business, let whomever have sex that wants to have sex and realize that they do not have the right to say anyone is going to hell.

noone is treating sex as evil. It is the misuse that can be evil. the selling of sex, the disrespect of the person involved in sex that is evil. Sex is a beautiful. Catholics just believe that it is sacred to marriage. What is wrong with that? I really see nothing wrong with setting standards as high as possible. And yes, with having sex there comes a great responsibility, which is why it should be thought of seriously before you DO IT. kids do not think into the future and many are having sex for all the wrong reasons. Self respect and respect for others is the key. You cannot equate cars with sex. It is a silly argument. And about the war, dammit, we did not cause the deaths, we are trying to prevent future deaths. These wonderful soldiers have made the choice to defend our freedoms, and God Bless them. Mr Jared G. there is nothing wrong with having a faith based life. That is not pathological. I guess believing that there is nothing after death but black, dark absolutely NOTHING is a better way to believe??

Sex is not evil in itself. As a matter of fact, it's natural. However, the problem arises when people are not being responsible when having sex. If the partners do not want children, they should take birth control measures or not have sex at all. Having a baby at an early age can lead to many hardships for parents as they try to raise a baby; often education is sacrificed, keeping them from a getting a degree and eventually a better career than what they have now. Nonconsensual sex, and excessive appetite for sex, and infidelity are completely are a completely different matter.

I think sex has come a long way into the public eye. Its not 1970 any more and its totally ok to talk about the human nature.
I think the negatives that might arouse are the consequences that can happen, babies, disease and all that.
Just protect yourself and get tested regularly. Its all good.

They consider sex evil because it creates feelings of lust. They think that sex should only be used for procreation.
Its stupid, I agree.
They also find nudity to be evil. Its censored on tv, which is stupid because we are all born naked. Nudity is a natural thing.
You know what I think? I think its cuz they aren't getting laid so they have to prevent everyone else from getting some too, by making them feel guilty about it.

If sex is evil.....I'm already doomed, so might as well carry on enjoying myself!
Sex is usually fun, its meant to be. The only time its evil is when it involves non consensual acts, humiliation of others, pain and degradation. But then I don't think you meant that form of sex.

Haven't you seen the family guy where hes looking for a potty training book ? and when the librarian sees he is catholic he recommends "your a naughty child and that is concentrated evil coming out of you"book instead of the old favorite "everybody poops" book

fundamentalist christianity is evil and dangerous. its belief system is pathological. the same is true of ALL fundamentalist religions. there is a level of religion for everyone. fundamentalism is entry level.
