In your opinion, which state sees a bigger economic boom over the next 10-15 years and why would you say that?

I personally think Florida will, as it's less expensive and closer to New york city/chicago.

I believe you are correct...and both have distructive problems, earthquakes, landslides, tornadoes and hurricanes. Pick your poison or choose from one of the other 48. We are lucky to have so many choices here.

Not really sure, Florida does have a tendency to attract the retirement group whereas California gets a younger crowd. Florida right now is suffering from home owner insurance gouging and triple increase in property taxes, more folk are moving out than in for the first time in decades. So I'd sort of feel that California is the place to be.

California. Why? Because there economy has always been in the top ten world wide. Without California's economy, the rest of America would fold like a deck of cards. Earth quake insurance might be expensive, but try hurricaine insurance or Flood insurance. If hurricaines keep slamming Florida, I see that state emptying out.

Maybe both will stagnate a little the next 10 years. Besides natural disasters, both states have been overbuilt as far as real estate is concerned, and the astronomical pricing of this real estate will loom on these states economies.

San Francisco, CA and Orlando, FL have nothing in common, so I'm having a hard time figuring out your priorities. Neither city is particularly low on crime or inexpensive to live in, though I suspect you could afford a small place near Orlando on both your incomes. Good Luck and Happy New Year!

There are so many natural disasters in Florida :O) My Wife and I are born and raised in California and we love it here. When it comes to your life money don't matter !!! I know Florida is a great place to go on vacation and it brings in alot of money, but Cali is much safer :O)
