I'm 19, and I just got married last year, and found out just before Christmas that my husband and I are expecting our first baby in August 2007. Then, my Mom found out that she is pregnant! She hasn't had a doctors appointment yet, so we're not sure when she is due, but I think it would be pretty crazy if we were due around the same time. I already have a brother who is 2 and a half, and a sister who is 9 months old. I know it isn't THAT unusual, since my Mom is only 37, and she has a new husband, but it's still pretty strange to me.
Some of my friends think that I should be mad, because now I have to share my "pregnancy spotlight" with my Mom. I'm really not mad at all, I mean what can I do? This will be my Moms 5th child, and my 1st so there is a pretty big difference. So far I've been really supportive, so I'm pretty curious why my friends seem appalled.
Should I be upset at all? Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes this is my Mom's first grandchild, so it's REALLY interesting for her. It's just funny thinking about her new baby, and even my younger brother and sister being aunts and uncles... lol.

Wow! That's pretty crazy. Just think - your baby will have an aunt or uncle the same age as he or she is!
I think it's great you're taking the mature, unselfish, supportive view on this. Good for you! You're a good daughter and already on your way to becoming a great mom!
Congrats and enjoy the ride!

Not exactly, but my mother-in-law wants a new baby. She just married her husband about 18 months ago and she's been trying to convince them they need a baby ever since (she's only 45). They both have two kids each, but none together, and she really wants to have a baby with him. I think that me getting pregnant really helped her husband's case, since if they had a baby it would be younger than their grandchild, which is odd. She's still trying to talk him into it though, I don't know why. If she had a baby this year she'd be 62 when it graduated high school. And it would have a niece that would graduate high school before it did!
Your friends are just apalled because it so far from the norm. Most of their parents are probably older than your mom, and they just can't imagine having siblings that young (I know my husband is freaked out about the idea of his mom having another baby). I think it's great that you can be supportive of your mom.

Your friends are so wrong and sound pretty immature. You should not be mad in any way at your mom. You should be happy and excited for. Pregnancy and giving birth is not about being in the "spotlight" You should be excited for you baby and brother or sister as well. It will be pretty cool for them to grow up together and so close in age. It will probably make the bond between you and your mother stronger and make you guys closer.
I was not pregnant at the same time as my mother but was pregnant at the same time as my best friends mother. It was fun.

My mom was 7 mos pregnant when I found out that I was pregnant with my 1st child so my brother is only 7 mos and 1 day older than my oldest son! It's not that bad! I've never seen an Uncle and nephew as close as those 2!

I haven't been pregnant the same time as my mom but I am 24 and I have a 2 yr old brother and a 4 year old sister. It is kinda weird. My mom was also younger and her new husband and herself wanted a family of their own.

Do I think it's kind of strange, sure, but there's nothing wrong with it! I would be weirded out if my mom was pregnant along with me, but your mom is still younger than most grandmas.
Congrats to you both. I feel kind of bad for you in a way, because she is going to be busy with her pregnancy and new baby and may not give you the support you were hoping for. So please don't expect too much from her since she is in the same situation as you. Good luck!!

That is SOOO cool - what a special bond the two of you will share!
Didn't happen to me, but to my oldest sister and my mom. My mom was 45, her sixth kid. My sister's first. My sister's was born in April and my brother was born in August, so he was an uncle the moment he was born. The "kids" had a cool relationship growing up - like cousins, but they weren't! Joked about it a lot once they hit the teen years.
Enjoy every moment! Good luck to you both!

I think that's very exciting!! Congratulations :) I'm sure your mom will be a great support system for you. There's no reason to be upset. I've never personally experienced it, but I highly suggest you watch Father of the Bride-part 2! You'll learn a whole lot! :):):)

I have a niece who was pregnant the same time as her mom. I think her mom was older than 37 at the time, and it seemed pretty ridiculous. I think there are some mothers in competition with their daughters.

it relatively is slightly a lot at cases lol i'm already seeing remark's at right here from some clientele saying that John Morrison "sucks" or that he's "puffed up" lol That notice is my sought after at right here. it relatively is the main over-used notice at right here! The notice puffed up, is puffed up lol yet yeah, i've got considered some comments at right here via some people who like to bash Morrison. some say he would not look difficult or that he's not any longer enormous or tall sufficient to be a considerable eventer. nicely I also have a information flash for those clientele: Morrison would not could look difficult or have extensive muscle mass to be a considerable eventer. he's uber athletic & has stunning wrestling skills. he's proficient! And it relatively is his expertise's & his large potential to tell a stable tale whilst in the wrestling ring, which will proceed to get him to the best. Like Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart & Chris Jericho in the previous him, Morrison is proving which you do no longer might desire to be tall or have extensive muscle mass to be stable in professional wrestling. people might have a the superb option to their evaluations, yet each so often, in basic terms each so often, some people, don't be attentive to what the hell they're conversing approximately lol
