Why is it then not OK for whites to have slaves? And why do us whites vehemently oppose slavery, but Africans seem to think it is OK, as long as the slave owner is not white? Could this be because, um, those of African descent are racist on this issue?

I think it is because the governments there are so unstable it's difficult to impose laws. That's why it is so hard to prosecute people involved with those "Nigiarian Email Scams". Also, extreme poverty makes people do desperate things. Those places are the most extreme cases of the "Haves and Have nots". With no centralized government and laws in place - the warlords are the ones in power and what the impose laws that they want - which is not about being fair for one and all.

I'd have to disagree. There is a massive sex slave industry in Europe and America - promises of jobs and wealth lure unsuspecting girls from Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, when they arrive they're paid a pittance and have all their papers taken from them. With no papers they effectively don't exist so are forced to work in the sex industry.

I'm guessing you haven't been to Africa and as such you're not speaking from experience (it's an assumption so apologies if I'm wrong). I've been to several African countries and from first hand experience can tell you that slavery is not tolerated. I'm not saying it doesn't happen - it happens everywhere but it's certainly not tolerated and anyone engaged in slavery is likely to be dealt with very harshly by the local people before being handed over to the authorities and punished again.

Fortunately the slave trade per se is confined to the history books. The people in Africa bear no grudges and although not forgotten, they are not seeking apologies or compensation.

There are *some* people of African descent, most notably in the US, who appear not to want to let the matter lie. Perhaps they are seeking redress or are using it as a stick to beat white people. I don't know as it's not something I have much first hand experience of.

Let me start saying first...
DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES...

Africa is NOT the only continent that has sex slaves, just look at Asia. In Thailand, the Philippines, Laos etc have a higher prostitution rates than Africa. WOMEN in the Philippines and others are promised for a dream jobs, but ends up Thai strip clubs working as a prostitutes. NOW. As you know everyone now knows that MEDIA PORTRAYS EVERYTHING THAT IS NEGATIVE to Africa and Africans. Why can't it be Asia, South America, Europe. There is no place that DO NOT HAVE SEX SLAVES.

We live in a very cruel world where what is right isn't always done.
that is why in the bible Paul says to be loyal to your owner.
Some people in society would starve to death and have no where to live. As horrible as slavery is some slaves are treated better than those who are not slaves. The furnish them a place to live, food and clothes and medical care. They are expected to work on the farm in return for this. The UN organization is working on bettering conditions for these people but change is slow in coming.

You are so cruel to make light of suffering people all over this world. Yes, slavery still exists, but it's everywhere not just in Africa. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, because while we are living normal lives, many people are not. They are forced to work and it touches all of us, because many of their products wind up in the U.S.

"Where are most of the world’s slaves?
People can be held in slavery in any country. The vast majority of the world’s slaves are in South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal). These people are held in debt bondage/bonded labor; a system in which a person becomes bonded by accepting a loan from a moneylender, for which they must work to repay. Workers are then tricked or trapped into laboring for little or no pay, under conditions that violate their human rights from which they cannot escape.

Most of these slaves work in agriculture, brick making, or other industries that feed into the local economy of their country. Other slaves are bonded into working at factories that produce export items for the United States and the global market, such as oriental rugs, diamonds and silk.

Africa and South America both have large numbers of slaves in some areas, and the recent increase in human trafficking is bringing slavery to many countries in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia.

Is there slavery in the United States?
There is slavery in the United States, mostly due to human trafficking for domestic work, migrant farm labor, or work in the sex industry. Migrant workers are tricked into working for little or no pay as means of repayment for debts from their transport into the US, similar to debt bondage in South Asia. Domestic workers and women in the sex industry are trafficked into the US with promises of jobs and education and then held as slaves. The US government estimates that 14,500-17,500 people are trafficked into the U.S. each year!"

You're trying to trap, and you see very well that it is racial aggravation one how people should have slaves. I see that you are a demon. if you want a slave, you must buy it from the owner. But it must be as much as you slaved it. why would anyone have them to be your slaves? your just like that demon king of egypt trying to slave people alot to have lazy confrontation. no wonder your a demon.
