Each as bad as the other on enviromental issues but, out of the two choices here, the answer is obviously China is the LESSER of the 2 evils - sorry to burst your bubble.
Reason?
I've yet to hear of China illegally invading another country, or invading SO many other countries over the years as United States !!

I am no admirer of America's current government but there is no comparison. The People's Republic of China is evil and America is not.
Hello (the poster above me) haven't you heard of China invading Tibet, East Turkestan, and threatening to invade Taiwan, a country which has known for decades what those commies have only just learned - that the free market works?

For all those people who think they are free in US, I would like to say that you do the same way what the government wants you to do. Its just they have programmed you through media, while in China they do it openly.

The USA is a great country and I am grateful that I was permitted to immigrate here. I have never had the slightest temptation to immigrate to China though and I know many Chinese who are also grateful that they were able to immigrate to the USA where they do not run over protester with tanks. Remember Tienanmen Square!

Not just because I'm an American and proud of it, at least here, we have "RIGHTS", and the only rights you have in China, are the rights "THEY" allow you to have. And there the gov't will tell you how many kids you will and won't have and this also includes pets. They might out number us, but will never be as great as us, and full of pride, and able to enjoy our rights.

lol no doubt although i only see one evil which is the stupid yankees the shiterbug USA!! haha and to that dumb **** who said US "represents peace, freedom and harmony" lol funny, so u represent peace freedom and harmony by invading countries and killing innocent people??lol i always see this ego sh!t from a US kid, but then that's ok.
