1. I suspect they went to an ADULT'S house, not a 12 year old girl's house.

2. You make no mention of WHY they went to that house.

3. Assuming that the FBI made a mistake, errors by the government mean that America is not such a free country?

4. No link to this story?

A 12-year-old girl was arrested Thursday in connection with a threat at a Clinton Township middle school. The bomb threat for Wyandot Middle School was made over the Internet last weekend, Local 4 reported.

Several students received information about the threat, which was allegedly sent via instant message. A parent learned of the messages and contacted police. Police sent bomb-detecting dogs to the school, but nothing was found. Classes were held Monday, but the approximately 600 students who attend the school were searched at the entrance.

The student who was arrested will face felony charges of using a computer to commit a false report for threat of terrorism. She could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Prosecutors have not decided whether to charge the girl as a juvenile or as an adult.

This is just one story-there are others but in the age of terrorism & internet predators, they don't get much press. Also saw stories of search warrants being served for music downloading. I don't have the answers but question whether the response is excessive. It seems there needs to be a discussion about this, at the very least.

The question is-are we sacrificing rights/freedom for security and is that really what people want?

I would add-do we arrest and imprison all pissed off 12 year olds?

To protect ignorant people such as your self. I would much rather have 30 FBI agents at my home than be flown into the side of a building. Better safe than sorry. And there is always more to the story, so learn the WHOLE story before being so ignorant.

In this country you have freedom of speech. You can voice your opinions. You can say:
"I think the president is doing a horrible job and we need to get rid of him"

But you cannot make any threats to the president. That is not "free speech." It is a threat of terrorism. If you're talking about the girl who posted the picture on Myspace, her picture was a non-verbal threat.

After what happened in Columbine, we definitely should not under estimate the power of a pissed off child.

America is not a free country. Not any more! Americans are losing more and more of their rights on a daily basis. The FBI and their 12 year old "Bin Laden" is only a small example of countless ridiculous governmental endeavours.

Because they were looking for some pinko leftist who uses an alias of David T. I tipped them off that the person might be at that location. Appearently David T. managed to elude them and is still at large, asking questions on the Yahoo! Answers board.

"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." - Thomas Jefferson

First, if it's true, she probably did something stupid like make threats to someone over the internet and they didn't know they were made by a 12 year old girl (doesn't make it any better).

Second, being a free country doesn't mean we don't have laws too.
