I don't know. I hope that I never have to be a working mom. If I did it would be last resort. I think that they do it because all the Feminists in the world are telling them that they are underselling themselves if they stay home with their kids. It is because the Femisists are training women to put themselves first and not their children and families. I think that is the main problem. Then they convince themselves that they are doing this all for the kids. Most women I know who work, work to pay for daycare.
Also I think that sometimes women aren't always commited to staying home. They sometimes say they are, But the women wha are really commited to it, do it. They make that goal, then they find a husband commited to the same goal and they make it work. If that is really what a Mother wants for her family, then she will do what it takes to get it. Kids are generally much better off being raised by their mothers than they are by some cold daycare.

I think its good for women to work outside the home so that if something happens ... Divorce or death of husband then they will be able to have working skills to support themselves. It also helps them have social interaction with other adults. Normally away from the children about 7 to 9 hours. Day care expenses are a tax write off so at the end of the year it helps a lot. I really don't think it's up to the husband to dictate what the woman does but to support them.

You try sitting at home with a child and unable to do anything alone. This includes going to the bathroom. Yes, I have found if you take a nap when they take a nap helpful, and to do things while they are asleep helpful as well. But honestly, would you want to spend every moment of every day couped up just because?
Working is a way to get out of the house, to get away from family for an extended period of time.
Don't get me wrong I love my daughter, my husband and his boys. But when you have 3 - 5year olds running around...you'll be bald by the time your 30 if you don't get out an work!
And no, child care is not an issue, and my husband has no say in whether or not I work. Just as I don't say a word if he wants to stay home or work.

I believe that married working moms are strong! If men can do it, women can too. Growing up, my mom always worked as a orthodontist and my father worked as a lawyer. I grew up being raised by a nanny and honestly, I believe that this took away from my experiences with my parents. Sure, I had everything I wanted in a materialistic point of view and everyone always said, "i wish i had your parents!" but of course not for their parenting skills, it was for their money. Personally, I believe that I'm a product of the nanny's parenting skills and not my parents. The nanny's services weren't expensive because my parents provided housing in a apartment above our garage so this didn't take much out of my mother's income. My mom was away from her children from 9-5 every day and I hated it. My father always told my mom that she was free to stay home if she liked but my mom described her job as a passion and told him she wanted to work. I hope this is of help to you. Good luck with your survey.

This all depends if she wants to work or not... If she and her husband are in agreement then it should be fine. I am a stay at home mom by choice and we do fine. My husband does not care either way. He says it is up to me! I love him for it:)
