Is there a way to buy Super Bowl tickets at face value from the NFL? Or do you have to know somebody?

It is a lottery. You send a registered letter to the NFL and they draw a % of tickets at random. Check out www.superbowl.com for more information. You must enter between Feb 1 and June 1. Send your ticket request to:

Season ticket holders of NFL teams have the best shots at tickets especially if your team is in the Super Bowl.

Be a very important, prominent person, or get on some sort of 10-20 year waiting list. Good luck! The super bowl has turned into a ridiculous corporate event where most of the tickets are available to sponsors and corporations. Sometimes a majority of the fans there are not even fans of the teams who are playing. The real fans have to pay outrageous amounts to acquire tickets because there just arent any available from a box office or ticketmaster like any other game.....it is a joke if you ask me
EDIT: i added this.........all this talk about the lottery for tickets validates my answer even more. what are the chances you will get one of the 2000 tickets from the lottery when millions of people are in it? The price tag is still huge I would imagine too. The point is that it is a totally corporate event...no love to the fans....stick with trying to go to the national championship, you can get tickets to that

I believe there's a lottery for a small # of tickets (2000?) each year at face for the game. Basically, it's a long shot at best. You can probably find info on the web on how you get your name entered.
