I have been trying to conceive. January was my 1st month of trying. I was due for my period on Sunday, Feb 4th. It is now Tuesday. All of the at home pregnancy test I am taking are coming back negative. Can these tests take more time than 3 days since a missed period to read a positive result?

I am going through the same thing right now. I had my last period on Dec 26. I have taken 3 tests and they have all come back negative. I have talked to my doctor, and he said it was very likely that I had conceived a week or so before I was due to start my period. What that means is that if we got pregnant a week or so before I was due to start then I would only be about three weeks now. Pregnant enough to stop a period and start showing symptoms of pregnancy, but too soon for a test to pick up the hcG. So, basically we are playing the waiting game. My doc thinks I am pregnant, but the at home tests show negative.
In the end it all depends on your cycle length and when you ovulated. It's not as likely, but it is possible to conceive right before you are due to start your period. If you recently went off of birth control or have had any hormone shift at all, it could cause your cycle to become disrupted. Therefore resulting in a pregnancy that is there but too early to detect. I would wait it out a little longer, and if you still show no signs of starting then go to your doctor. They can give you a blood test to confirm a pregnancy. If you are not, then you need to get checked out to make sure everything is ok so you can get pregnant. Hope this helps! :)

It might depend on the kind of test you are using, Clearblue Digital was able to detect the pregnancy hormone 4 days before my period was due, with my last pregnancy, go and buy a different test and see if the result is any different. Good Luck!

I went through this exact same thing 4 weeks ago!!!!! I had 4 tests all positive and the doctors test said negative. I basically had to beg for a blood test! I was freaking out for the whole next day until my test came back. Guess what - it was positive! I think the doctors just don't spend the money on the expensive sensitive tests since most women don't go in until they are about 2 months along. I'd have to say your pregnant, just in the early stages. Congrats! Keep us posted

First off make sure that you're using a test that is the most sensative. Try first response. Some tests can only pick up on hcg at 100mlU and some are able to pick it up at only 25mlU.
If you don't get your period by tomorrow, test again. Remember that your hormone levals will double every 2.2 days, so every day that you wait to test increases your chances of getting a positive if you're pregnant.
Good luck! I hope you get your positive test soon!!

Some tests can detect pregnancy 5 days before your missed period. my husband and I have been trying for 4 months, I wish it only took a month.

The tests are over 99% accurate after you missed your period but it is possible you didn't ovulate or ovulated late--have you recently come off some form of hormonal birth control like the pill, patch, ring?

Maybe you are stressed out and that is why your period hasn't came. A pregnancy test should be showing that you are pregnant so maybe you aren't. Give it a few days and then re-test. Good luck

If you are using an early detection test, than that should be accurate, but if your still worring than you should have your doctor order blood tests, to be sure. That is allways accurate
