WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too liberal.
Attention!!! Attention!!!
There are NO MORE CRIMINALS!!!! Yes it's what they would have you believe.
For every crime, the 'criminal' is now the victim. They are a victim of society, they are a victim of upbringing, and they are a victim of a disease. The legal system has allowed even the most disgusting crime be excused by saying that the perp has a disease.
What, you molested a child? That's OK, Pedophilia is a disease.
What, you killed for money? That's OK, poverty is a disease.
What, you mugged an old woman?? That's OK, you needed drug money...and addiction is a disease.
What, you killed someone for fun??? That's OK, sociopath have a disease.
What, you raped a woman? That's OK, you just need anger management.
What, you drove drunk and killed a family??? That's OK...alcoholism is a disease....
When will we stop excepting excuses for criminal behavior, and start punishing it? For way too long, people have been allowed to commit crimes and not pay a price because society has made everything a treatable illness. It has gotten WAY out of control. There is no longer a need for personal accountability or responsibility.
If we don't take back our legal system, we will ALL become victim to yet another crime. Our society and legal system have been being gutted and allowed to bleed to death. Isn't it time to apply the tourniquet and start exacting justice?

Absolutely!
As a retired former practicing Attorney we are way toooo liberal with criminals!
But it is not only our justice system it is our society itself!
I learned long ago that we have as much crime here in this country as we do mainly because we tolerate it!
In the countries that do not tolerate crime like some of the Scandinavian countries - they have very little!
Germany had a total of 9 homocides in 1979 for the whole year while Cleveland, Ohio had 117 homicides in a month during that time!
What does this tell you??????????

Yes, however our system of justice was founded on the ideal that it is better to let a guilty person go than to wrongly convict an innocent and that all people can be rehabilitated. Based on those principals how could it not favor criminals?

Depends what part of the country you are in. The south tends to be a bit more strict, but get to California, NY, and many of the major cities and it gets pretty liberal.

I believe our system of justice to be the fairest in the world. Mistakes are made, but not often enough to warrant changes.

Yes it is, and prisoners need to be treated like such. they get to many perks, a lot of them get out and re-offend just to go back to the posh life they have in prison.

Ever been unfairly accused of a crime? It's not that liberal.
Is there a better alternative? NO.
