I am 12 weeks pregnant and everything is going great according to my OB. When should I announce my pregnancy? Only my family knows right now.

I feel nervous and anxious to tell everyone because some people will bombard me with questions and too much attention. This is our first baby and I just feel weird having everyone know I am pregnant. My husband said he will announce it when I feel comfortable.

What do you think?

Wait until you start showing and people notice.

Typically, people announce it at 3 months. From what I've been told, this is due to uncertainty of the viability of the pregnancy. Once you get past 3 months, barring any unforseen circumstances, things are pretty good. So, technically you could tell people now. If they're getting nosey and wanting information about stuff that's none of their business, let them know gently that you and your spouse are still discussing things and are just enjoying the time together. However, if you wait too much longer to tell, people will (even if they're not entitled to) get offended.

I was young when I had my first child and also very nervous. I only told close friends and family. Otherwise, some doctors will tell you to wait until after the first 3 months have past. I did it when I felt more comfortable and wasn't so scared about the pregnancy and all the risks.

Well me personally I would have just a nice party with all my friends and announce it in the middle or at the end because if you wait too soon your belly is going to get big and then there going to be asking some SERIOUS questions!

normally after the first 12 weeks the baby is developed and your are supposed to be out of the danger period. if you tell other people you are going to get excited when they start to tell you different stories about their experiences. also try to relax a little and just enjoy being pregnant
good luck

When you feel that your friends are starting to look at you differently, that's sound enough if you're not sure. Of course your friends, and work colleagues will probably be thrilled for you, and might even start looking for little gifts for your baby. Also if you start feeling sick, or having cravings they'll understand and be supportive! My daughter told me first, after her partner of course! and then a few weeks later told her friends, it gave us time to have that 'special time'

I think you should tell them now! Everything is going good with the pregnancy and everyone should be able to share your happiness with you. Good Luck!

Well, once you start showing, they are going to find out anyway and you're going to get attention and questions anyway. Nothing like the present.

i would tell them when you feel comfortable and try not to feel nervous about it...if you feel weird about it let your husband tell them....dont let people bother you about it...if they start asking too many questions and you dont feel like answering just tell them your not ready to discuss it so much right now...heck ....its your pregnancy....enjoy it!!:)
