100% TRUE! Thank you feminists for killing masculinity...You've made the world more evil thanks to your selfishness and shoving your kids off to daycare to have someone else raise them because you need a "life outside of the home." Your place is in the home! Is it that hard to understand? Women are the weaker sex so get over it!

I don't really agree with that statement now. For some time after the women's lib/ feminist movement, this could have been true. Now, things have come into a better balance, and "chivalry" is coming back.

At first, opening the door for a lady was not liked. Women took it being weaker, and they "didn't need a man to open a door for them, they were perfectly fine doing it themselves."

Now, I think women have realized that it was just being nice, and there was no subconscious message being sent. So, things are getting back to normal.

From personal experience, I have stopped on more that one occasion to change a ladies tire on the side of the road. I assume that she could have done it on her own, but was being nice. I have never gotten a complaint. Just a couple weeks ago, the two ladies across from me were moving out. They were having a tough time getting the couch down the stairs. I went over and helped them. It wasn't a "I am man, and you are the weaker sex" statement. It was, "I am man, and am willing to help you guys out" statement. They were very appreciative.

Now, there are some who will see these things as attempting to portray women as the weaker sex. But, they are also the ones who think everything else in the world is a conspiracy as well.

Dr (?) Laura?

This is the woman estranged from her own mother whose ex posted nude photos of her on the internet.

I say consider the source. I will say that there is a lack of good male role models in popular media, and that has pre-dated feminism. Feminism when misdirected by people with their own agendas as the cure for all social ills is like anything else that limits perspectives.

Dr (not a doctor) Laura has a limited perspective and no clue herself, so?

Continued: Ahh, my first thumbs down. How predictable. People want simple answers, and there are none. You know why? Because things like integrity, respect, a positive attitude, affection, and romance require a lot of character and take some work, and relationships require maintenance, and you can't fit a full explanation for how all that is supposed to come about on a bumper sticker.

How many women today would like to be home with the kids instead of working. I sure would have like to been able to stay at home with my kids. I think half the problems with the kids today, no one was home watching th kids. All the women in the work place out there looking for other men than the ones they have. Men have all these women to look at in the workplaces. I think we need to have minds and opinions as women, but I think this working 40-60 a week and then going home and taking care of the family is for the birds thanks to the feminist in the world.

I don't like this quote, I'm a little shocked that a woman would say it but she is entitled to her own opinion. Basically what she's saying that good, polite, honest men aren't there anymore because of women who stand up for themselves, or who want to do everything for themselves. Which I don't believe, I am a feminist but I do believe that there are some things men can do that women can't. It's science and simple knowledge. I don't like boxing, men or women shouldn't do it. But especially women. I don't want to see someones boobs bouncing around while they fight. It's disgusting. Chivalry is still out there somewhere, but you just have to find it. Maybe if it weren't for women fighting for our rights, there would have been more men working in their homes and taking care of business. But I'd rather have the career and the man, than just either or. I don't want someone to take care of me, I want to be able to take care and fend for myself. Just in case something happens with him or just in case of anything. You never know. Us women have our rights, it's come with a price but there are still men out there. I don't want a man doing everything for me. I'm supposed to be a help meet, but I don't want to stay home and take care of the house, the kids, and do nothing else. That gets boring, tiring and sometimes it ruins a marriage when a woman feels like she has no way out. It's horrible. I hope this answered your question.

... That makes sense in a sad way. Saying because females are more self suficient and less docile men have a harder time impressing us. You know- their deeds have to be greater than ours to be impressive? So, sorry Dr. Laura Schlessinger for raising the bar when it comes to male performance in the wooing department. Guys are lazy immature asses anyways when it comes to having a romantic streak, or, maybe that's just my ex.

It's pretty much true. Some of my male friends have told me how they've opened a door for a lady, (thinking they were being gentlemen) just to be verbally abused. I think alot of women take the women's libber thing waayyy too far.

Men are men and shouldn't have to be made ashamed of it. As little boys, they were taught to respect the opposite sex, now they get hung, drawn and quartered because of it.

It's almost dead but, I think we can resusitate it.

Disagree:

From a male senior citizen.

Maybe I'm past the modern era, but I still enjoy holding the doors for others (men included) and letting women go first ( even if I lose one spot in line), etc. but this is more than offset by putting a smile on someone's face and hearing a polite "thank you".

True, the best examples can be found in the scandinavian cultures. In those countries women are treated equally, and if you open the door for a girl chances are she would get mad

Sadly true in Western culture because women have equal rights. However in the rest of the World not so.Very important that men are chivalrous towards the fairer sex.
