There isn't a benefit to using ethanol. The amount we can produce is not nearly enough to support our economy's needs. Right now, we are blending it with gasoline. This helps stretch our oil reserves but a better solution will need to be forthcoming. BTW, anyone who tells you ethanol is driving up the cost of corn products doesn't know his butt from a hole in the ground. Yellow corn is used for ethanol, white corn for food stuffs. Eventually, high prices for yellow corn will effect beef prices because of its use as a feed.

It will help keep auto repair shops in business, alcohol is a corrosive water sponge with low BTUs.
