Seriously, though, as the music industry push beauty and charisma over actual talent, yes, you will come to believe that ugly people cannot sing.
It's too bad no one else seems to get that by asking this question, you were really using sarcasm to comment on the fact that most of the beautiful singers today suck, and wouldn't be able to carry a tune in a bucket with hundreds of thousands of dollars of digital sound equipment that alter their voices to make it sound like they can sing.

Yes, ugly people can sing will and even be famous. Look at some of today's artists....they are not all beautiful and that's okay. If they have a great voice, that's what matters.
Look at that singer Meatloaf...he's not the hottest, but he made a few hits in his time.
Weird Al....he's not the hottest, but he's popular and well known.
I guess the old saying applies, "you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover"....something great lyes in all of us...pretty or ugly.

Why couldn't ugly people sing well. There looks have nothing to do with their voice. There have been alot of not so good looking people who sing wonderfully, and alot more good looking singers who kind sing at all.

Mick Jagger is ugly and cant sing well but is famous.
Steven tyler, and Kadee lang are pretty ugly in my book and they both can sing very well.
A person just has to have "star potential" or "it" as they say on American Idol.

My mercy what a question. I can see where that question may arise in the wake of overexposure and constant media barragement and our love of the beautiful and the young. All we seem to see are beautiful perfect looking singers. But the fact is, traditional beauty doesn't make someone sing well, look at alot of blues singers, or Janis Joplin. Looks doesn't influence voice. But unfortunately, it may influence sales.

I think some can. But in the video age, it is really tough for an ugly person to get a record deal.

Well it doesn't matter how you look, how well you sing depends on your vocal capabilities, and how well you are able to vocalize so yes ugly people can sing well some sound better than beautiful people.

While I would say that Barbara Streisand, Barry Manilow are not necessarily ugly......... But they can sing.
