Occasionally I've been having these sharp stabbing pains right above my hip bone. It only happens at night, and makes it impossible to sleep. It usually happens when I sleep on my back but sometimes when I sleep on my left side. When I roll over to my stomach or right side the pain goes away. Dunno if its a pinched nerve or somethin more serious. Any answers would be greatly appriciated.

ask yourself a few questions, first are you sexually active and able to get pregnant? second have you sustained any trauma to your hip in the past? if it is in the right lower section of your abdomen it might be an inflammed appendix or something of that nature, dont fret though im no doctor just an EMT im just giving you stuff to consider, regardless you should see a doctor, esp if it is more towards your abdomen on your right side. i couldnt honestly tell you more without giving you a proper physical.

You haven't given enough information. How long have you been having these pains? It could be any number of things, but it sounds similar to a problem I had very recently which turned out to be a kidney stone.

I would get it checked out. This is one of those things that without a physical no one can really tell what it could be.

Your appendics are also in that area. If you start to feel nauseous go to ER.
