god he's terrible in so many ways, so i won't list them
i just want to know, am i the only sane person out there, who hates this short, ugly, psychotic freak who makes lame music?

huh? i have to listen to everyone talk about how amazing he is but if i say he sucks i'm mean? give me a break. i'm sick of hearing people praise him all the time. not everyone on earth has the same opinion.

Yes I agree with you and I'm from Minnesota where he's from...he's an embarrassment to me as a Minnesota native! Who could like his awful music..."When Doves Cry" is as lame as it gets!!

The guy is a freakin musical genius!
Not only has he mastered numerous musical instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, and piano, he also single-handedly writes, composes, and produces his material which speaks volumes, especially in today's lame world of boring bubble gum American Idol mass marketed Top 40 music.
He's worked with some of the most influential musicians of our time (i.e. Stevie Wonder), and he's highly respected in the music/entertainment industry. He puts on late night shows for almost every single awards show imagineable - celebrities can't get enough of his music!
He's been named in numerous magazines/websites as one of the top 10 guitarists of all time - next to Hendrix, Clapton, Page, etc.
I've seen Prince live numerous times, in large venues as well as very intimate clubs and I can say without a doubt that he is THE most talented musician I have ever had the pleasure of watching. He has the ability to make 5,000 people dance their asses off for 3 hours straight at 2 in the morning!!!
I don't think a "psychotic freak who makes lame music" would be asked to do the entire Superbowl half time show (just him - no other performers) and receive glowing reviews like this:
"He played before 74,512 fans at Dolphin Stadium (who had been given flashlights to point at the stage during the performance of Purple Rain). The event was carried to the biggest audience of his life -- 140 million television viewers. Overall, the show was energetic and quite well-received by the rain-soaked audience surrounding the stage. Come on guys! Prince is a musical genius. He has helped many artist make it into the music business. The band The Time, with Morris Day. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis come from The Time, And look what they did to help Janet Jackson's carreer. Vanity 6, what ever happened to them, I have no idea, but they did a one good hit in the 80's. Not to mention they many great songs he has written and produced for others. Prince is the Bomb!

U Can not like him for whatever reason but he at least derserves some fukkin RESPECT. He is a musical genius, Most of u people just look at him and assume that he sucks.He mastered over 23 instruments. he writes, composes, and produces his music by himself.

Agreed! But I will confess that back in my dancing days, I did groove to several of his songs - my favorite being Erotic City.

He's OK. He's an entertainer & some of them annoy some people. Having said that, I just looked at 'my music' which contains over 6,000 tracks, & he's not in there! ;o)

I really like Prince, he has more talent in his little finger than some of these "so-called" artists that are out there today!! You did ask for our opinion didn't you????

I actually like Prince, I think he is great! Too bad you don't like him. His earlier stuff is really good, I love the Purple Rain Cd.
I agree that his newer stuff does suck....

i like him. he has been around for aloooong time and has gone through many changes,taking his public boldly with him. he has now converted to chrisitanity and is not ashamed to proclaim it.
i admit there have been times over the years that he creeped me out a bit...but the bottom line is that the little man is very talanted musically, and has done a helluva job staying true to himself and his music for decades.

I don't hate anyone, but I don't really "get" Prince. His music is ok, he is just an odd ball.
