If only the audio, of the pilots obvious regret, could be heard, without the video of the incident, would people have a different opinion of the accident?

I see no way whatsoever showing that video helps anyone. Including his family.

You can hear that pain in their voices, it was an accident. Accidents happen, this one was bad, bad accidents happen.

People are as*h*les, that they need to see, listen and hear EVERYTHING. Can't some things stay private?

Friendly fire accidents have been around for the entire history of warfare. The Confederates best General (Thomas Jackson) was killed by his own troops. War is a dangerous business.
The Allies (Brits included) bombed their own POWs by mistake. Tragically, it happens.

I don't see it as a big deal. You can actually get a better idea of the "fog of war". The recent example was clearly a big mistake.

Friendly fire happens, its a fact of war and certainly regrettable.

You could hear the desparation and frustration in the pilot's comments/voice.

It's necessary to show the video of the friendly fire case to the coroner so that he can come to a proper legal verdict about the cause of death. The US should have handed it over months ago, irrelevant of any embarrasment it might cause, because it was needed for legal procedings.

It is painful and unpleasant to see. But the truth need to be known. It can serve as a bitter lesson to those deciders in the government who started this whole illegal war in the first place.
