I have a Marshin 150 i now know that a bigger sprocket in the front will give it more top speed but take away from acceleration. It has a 15t in front and a 46t in back it has a 150cc motor and my neighbors xr80 has a higher top-speed than mine all i want to know is what size front sprocket should i use.

Do NOT listen to "xcess" he is exactly wrong. While there are going to be space limitations on how large a front sprocket you can use, there is almost always a way to mount a smaller sprocket in the rear, which is what you want. A rear sprocket with LESS teeth will give you more top end at the sacrifice of acceleration, MORE teeth will give you a snappier take-off but the motor will run out of RPM's at speed. Regardless of how fast your bike goes right now, if your RPM's are very high at top end, or if you hit the rev limiter, then a gear change will help, otherwise, if the engine can't wind out all the way, then a smaller rear sprocket will make things even worse.

Actually dont mess with the front..change the rear. The higher the number of teeth the less acceleration but higher top speed..maybe try a 15t front with a 48t rear or even a 49t rear...just dont get too carried away and turn it into a clutch smoking slug down low.

A smaller the front sprocket received't improve your excellent end, because the motor will be making extra revolutions compared to the rear sprocket. a better the front sprocket or smaller rear sprocket provides you with extra excellent end, yet your acceleration will wade through somewhat. i'd use no better than one extra enamel at the front, or 3-4 enamel a lot less on the rear till you get what you're searching for. chinese dirt motorcycles may no longer have an significant factors grant, yet they ought to experience similar Honda or Yamaha products. Take the sprocket for your jap motorbike broking service and view them to what's interior the factors bin.
