Actually, there's an interesting story about this year's move:
-Since the WWE is starting to notice TNA as a viable competitor, they chose to move to Thursday off of the simple ability to see which show fans will turn to: RAW or Impact. WWE will be running 5 hours of televison that day, RAW, then the same RAW after that, then AM RAW right after. If TNA wins in the ratings, get ready to see Vince go into "monday night war" mode!

They have to move the show that comes on tuesday too. It's not the ratings, the dog show comes on every year, even before Raw was on the USA network.

Yes Raw will be on thursday just for 1 night. 1 night only. Raw will be back on mondays in like 2 weeks

That has been happening for years. Anybody who has been watching wrestling for a good amount of time remembers the pre-Spike TV days of the WWE would know that.
