Do you remember The Clangers? And for what reason did they get in trouble with the BBC?

I remember the Clangers but never realised the got into trouble with the BBC. It might have been something to do with people interpreting the whistles with swear words.

On the Doctor Who episode "The Sea Devils" there was a TV showing The Clangers featured. That was the only time they were shown on Doctor Who.
I liked the colander helmet one wore. They also ate soup given to them by a Soup Dragon, sometimes my dad gives me soup, which is nice but not the same.

Yes I remember them, they were repeated on C4 I think last year or the one before but it is news to me that they got into trouble with the BBC, obviously I don't read the right newspaper.

I have the whole series on DVD. I watched as a kid in the 70s when I lived in the UK, so when I had kids I had to get it for them.
Here in Italy they show them everyday on the kid's SKY channel!
Don't know anything about any trouble, tho...
