I just want to say that the comment above about breastfeeding til 3-4 years of age is also RIDICULOUS. A majority of research will say to give cow's milk after 12 months.

I know you are asking moms but I am a father of 3, uncle of many, and my wife runs a daycare that I help with. The first thing to look out for here is this.
If she is not having wet diapers then she is dehydrating which you need to bring her to the doctor right away for.
Otherwise the issue is simply a matter of her getting relaxed, try calming her first and cuddling with her. Then see if she will take it.
You may have given her a bottle just before or just after her shots, and it may be that she is reminded of the shots in some way when she sees the bottle. Yes believe it or not even a 6 month old can have post traumatic stress. Of course its always best to discuss your concerns with the pediatrician. I hope she gets over this easily and that all goes well for booth of you.

She shouldn't be taking a bottle in the night at 8 months anyway. She should be sleeping threw the night. She may be teething and the pain is keeping her up and also making her not want a bottle because it is uncomfortable to her right now.
Try some baby Orajel and the proper dose of Tylenol for her age and weight.
My daughter stopped nursing at 4 months (her choice not mine) then stopped the bottle at about 6-7 months.
It is suggested to start a soppy cup at 5 months...with a bottle. To get them used to it. Your baby may like to try a soppy cup more when her gums are sore.
Good luck

I'm not a mom, but I ask why aren't you breast feeding your child? Unless you cannot produce enough milk, it is best to breast feed an infant. There are many healthy advantages to doing so. From the many reports I have read, children should be breast fed until they are 3 or 4 years of age. Of course they also are eating other foods by then too, but a mother's breast milk is best for the baby, toddler and adolescent.
Yeah I know I will get a bunch of thumbs down from you ladies out there...but do some research and you will find what I say is true.
Hey nurse spoken like a typical RN....you need to remember cows milk is no good for anyone....or don't you know that either...

If this only happened that day/night, she could just be irritated from the shots? If not, you might just need to lower the number of bottles down a day, she could be craving real food like your doctor said. Soon she'll be wanting table/finger food! hehe.

Sounds to me like your baby is deciding to wean herself.
It's up to you to be the smart momma and let her do it her way. She'll still need milk in one form or another, and there's nothing wrong with starting on a slow flow sippee cup.

To me that would be a good thing, as long as she's not crying and hurting... my son is 21 months and im trying to ween him off the bottle at night.. last night was the 2nd night.. so far so good, but I wished he would of gave it up himself..
