Surely you can see that any attempts to use military force for any reason abroad creates a great deal of criticism in the US. In your post you critcize the effort in Iraq to stop genocide but suggest that we should do just that in Rwanda or in other spots in Africa. Why do you think one is not worthy of care and one is more worthy of care. The Democrats who campaigned against the use of military force to chase terrorists are in power and while the black politicians here may wish to send troops on their own missions the very party the belong to has made it impossible to consider.

Well, the Bush Administration is adamant that they will do everything in their power to keep the civil war in Iraq alive.
The American people for the most part only care about themselves and what they can buy new this week.
The genocide in Africa will not have a direct affect on the US.
Global Warming is expected to make Central Africa as unliveable as North Africa over the next 100 years. AIDS will wipe out a majority of the population too.

Well poverty, civil war, and genocide (shite on sunni) is going on right now in Iraq. And we have no troops to send anywhere. Besides I don't want to go fight and die in africa to stop it. And the truth is its not really going to affect us(a). 1 0f 4 of those poor Africans is going to die of HIV and that hasn't effected us yet. Frankly its just not near our top priorities.
1 get out of Iraq
2 stop immigration/boarder security
3 global warming
4 prevent bankrupting the empire
5 rebuilding new orelens
But we all know BUSHco is more interested in selling weapons to both sides and getting daddy and cheney's companies richer. We would be doing that if there was any money to be made over there.

It affects us all, even if nothing but to desensitize us. The UN has been utterly useless in this matter and the USA cant be everywhere doing everything. We should pray for those suffering and contribute to any organizations that can get help to the suffering people.

Because it doesn't really effect us in any negative way.
The situation in Africa is nothing new. It has always been that way. It just gets worse as more Europeans give up and leave.

Typical.
Iraq was supporting terrorism and sucide bombers.
Those with more microscope vision knows that Iraq was more than just WMDs.
Clinton ran away from Africa.
Just the other week we went back with a C-130 gunship.
Our first thing to do is get rid of people who vow to kill us.

You go, girl! I'm so happy that somebody finally said what I was thinking. I'll never create an excuse for us "Americans" but most people here don't know what to do since they are here and they don't know how to reach out. I'm telling you, I'm all for doing something! Thanks for speaking up!
