Depending on the size of the survey, it may already represent a sampling. The more data you have, the better in most cases.

Taking a sample can be effective, but sampling from a set of data can not be more helpful than the entire set.

The key is to ensure the data is collected in a manner where it fully represents what it is intended to.

Advantages? - how about disadvantages!

like higher deviation from the mean.
broader sampling range.

I can't think of advantages - that is way sampling is done.
