Assume you left your marriage for this person? Would you ever resent them? Why/why not??

Just curious. I have seen so many people give up so much for an affair partner. I was just wondering when reality sets in do they ever look at the "other person" and say you were not worth it?

So many righteous responders to this type of question????

Leaving your spouse is traumatic whether there is still feeling there or not. But, if the new relationship that you sacrificed your marriage sours soon after, bitterness can definitely set in. Easily understood that making the sacrifice of your marriage, like splitting assets, child custody, and treasured memories; that sacrifice will appear wasted.

You then perceive your life as less than what you had prior to the motivations to setup out of your marriage initially. You've lost your lover, assets, and family (that you can't even come back home).

I havent ever cheated, but I spose if you cheated on your nice secure marraige with a wild boy and lef the marraige for him (think kate hudson) then he wasnt everything you expected and hoped for, you would.
Also if you got caught and your partner left you, and took the kids, you would resent the affair guy/girl. People find it hard to admit there wrongdoings, its so much easier to blame the other guy.

I guess the number one reason to resent that person was if they misrepresented themselves during the affair and then after you left your spouse for him, he revealed his true self. If his REAL personality was hidden during the affair and he turned out to be a loser and user and manipulator once he got you out of your marriage.

i would if they turned out worse than the person i left in the first place. you know, the whole the grass is greener thing.

i never cheated. and i don't intend to. but hypothetically that is why i would resent them.

I have never had an affair but am contemplating one. I would have to say if he started treating me badly like my husband.

yeah, because I would think he would do the same thing too me as we did to my marriage partner ( if i was to do this) therefore i would not trust them has if we met under different curcumstances.
