I live on the East Coast where it is currently 10 degrees (Ugh!!!). I am going to San Diego this week where it is in the 60's. However, in Palm Springs, it is almost 80 degrees. I was thinking of driving to Palm Springs just to lay out in the sun for a day. Am I crazy?? I really just need to feel the sun on my face for a little while. LOL - Seriously, if you were to do that, where would you go? Are there any parks where I could lay out in the sun for awhile? Thanks :)

No, you're not crazy, not at all!

There's lots of places in Palm Springs to hang out--but one word of caution--watch out for the homeless guys, they will bother you NO END. Why don't you just go to a really nice hotel (there's many) or spa's and ask them what their "pool rate" is for the day? That's what I'd do. You dont want to check in, you just want to "use the pool"

It's like 125 miles from San Diego to Palm Springs, but it is crazy to be driving in the desert for quite a few miles and then all you see is green. Palm Springs is a beautiful place to see. Hope you enjoy your trip. Went there quite a few years ago and never forgot it. Bask in the sun my friend.

If you come to San Diego, you will really enjoy the parkland around Mission Bay.

Today it is in the low 80's with a light overcast soon to clear to bright blue sunny skies.

Nothing like the sun, the beach and a brew.

Your not crazy, just in need of sun. But I would not lay out all day. Maybe an hour at most. Otherwise you will come back with a sun burn. Imagine that, 10 degree weather and you have a sun burn....

Uhhh...hell yeah your crazy, why the hell would you DRIVE from the east coast to the west coast, and how would you do it for a day, unless you have a back to the future vehicle? Impossible! I'm in Chicago, 3 degrees, feels like -5, and snowing like crazy, i'd love to fly to phoenix, or even Hawaii right now. Good luck!

Heck no--- your not crazy at all! If I were you, I would drive up the beach line until I found the warmest, sunniest spot I could and spend a few hours there. I can relate to your winter----isn't it funny how in January we can think it's warm out when its upper 20s or above freezing for sure?
