Is it not true that the only thing that can effect the global temp is the sun? Is it not also true that in the last few decades the sun has been releasing more sun flares? Does that not mean that maybe we are over exaggerating with green house emissions and global warming being caused by us?

Yes - you are absolutely right. The only substantial source of heat we have is the sun, if you ignore the heat from the earth's molten core. How much warming the earth experiences will depend on how much heat reaches the earth, which depends on the temperature of the sun, minus how much heat is reflected away again. The sun is certainly getting hotter, but the amount of heat retained by the earth's atmosphere and not reflected away is also rising. So global warming is a combination of a hotter sun and more heat retention, caused by so-called "greenhouse gases". We are certainly responsible for a lot of the greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, but the relative contribution of each factor (sun, or greenhouse gasses) is up for debate.

This is a good question and it goes to the heart of the climate chage problem. First of all it is not true that the only thing that can change the global temperature is the Sun. What affects our global temperature is the heat budget of the earth-atmosphere system. With the current heat balance the earth will maintain a certain equilibrium temperatue T(1). With increasing temperatures due to increased greenhouse gases, more clouds will form, reflecting more incoming shortwave radiation from the Sun, tending to cool the earth. But at the same time the temperature of the atmosphere and earth's surface will increase due to the longwave radiation trapped beneath the clouds keeping the earth warm at a higher equilbrium temperature T(2).
So while the same amount of radiation arrives at the earth and the same amount leaves, the earth itself is at a higher equilibrium temperature achieved by a new energy budget for the entire system.

I think you have a misconception - what seems obvious in fact not as one would expect.

When the sun gets hotter (the number of sun spots decreases to a minimum) this triggers very cold weather on the Earth - even ice ages.

Thats correct - hotter sun : cooler Earth.

So increasing sun temp does not in fact cause heating it causes cooling of the earth.

Earth is a living, dynamic system - other planets like Mars and Nuptune etc they do get hotter, but not the Earth.

Imagine that your in bed lovely and warm. The blankets that cover you are like the Earths atmosphere keep the Earth warm. We have added a few extra blankets. Its starting to get too warm, its getting a bit uncomfortable. The sun gives out heat. The earth can radiate some of it back into space; but if we have a blanket of Carbon Dioxide, we still receive the heat from the sun, but it is more difficult to radiate it away, so the earth warms up. A geenhouse does the same - the sun radiates light in, but at the wave length that heat is radiated out from the inside of the greenhouse, the glass is a barrier - which is why it is so warm in the greenhouse. Hence Carbon Dioxide is sometimes called a greenhouse gas.

the sun is not the main problem, we are... the carbon dioxide that we make by burning gas all the factories in the world and electricty give off carbon dioxide this is were the green house effect comes in... all the carbon dioxide that is released into the atmosphere that makes the ozone layer thick and lets out less heat that is let in which is makin gthe planet's average tempures go up and the polar ice caps melt... if green land melted completely that would raise the sea level 20ft big problem for coastal cities...
